Conway – Hustler & Big Talk (In Session for DISORDER TV)

Conway is different to most of today’s young female musicians.

The Independent describes her music as being ‘more rebellious, more of The Slits genre – loud, punky but accessible. She looks part Blondie, part flapper girl, with a messy blonde bob, ridiculous cheekbones and from the school of style that involves a lot of slouchy vests and high-top trainers. And she dances like Mick Jagger; jerky, excitable moves that are genuine and pleasingly off kilter. In fact, dancing is a key part of what she does – Conway doesn’t create any music that you can’t move to.’

The Heartbreaks – Hey, Hey Lover (Acoustic Session For DISORDER TV)

The band formed in the seaside resort of Morecambe in 2009, brought together by a shared love of soul music, Orange Juice and gritty Northern literature. Before forming the band, Whitehouse and Kondras worked as ice cream men, Wallace was a roofer and Deakin “just floated from place to place”.

The band have been described as “fanatical experts on the British seaside”,and many of their early rehearsals took place in an old snooker hall off the promenade,.[5] A few months after forming, the band were named Manchester Evening News Band of 2009.

The band perform 2 acoustic tracks for us.

Contactmusic.net said of ‘Hey, Hey Lover’ …a magnificent new single from The Heartbreaks. It’s taken from their upcoming second album due out in May via Nusic Sounds. It’s urgent, intelligent and life affirming pop that enraptures from first listen.

No Pasaran!

And Gigslutz.co.uk describes No Pasaran! (or as the English say ‘they shall not pass’)… it paints clear images of bullfighting where the matador teases the bull which is reflected in the intensity of the song as it erupts into the chorus which is reminiscent of the bull chasing after that red cloth.

The band popped into the RCS for an acoustic session and we grabbed them for a quick photo shoot too… 2 birds, 1 stone etc!

Bipolar Sunshine – Where Did The Love Go & Trouble

Manchester native Adio Marchant, aka Bipolar Sunshine, combines elements of pop, R&B, and dance to create his own unique sound. Before launching his solo career in 2013, Marchant was lead vocalist for six-piece ska band Kid British. He found the approach of multiple songwriters too constricting, so upon their dissolution in 2012 he decided to strike out as a solo artist. With the help of producer Jazz Purple (playing guitar in this session), Marchant began to construct a sound and image that aimed to be thought-provoking and musically diverse. His vision of alternative pop gained him many fans early on, with artists such as A$AP Rocky and London Grammar eager to endorse his music. In June 2013, Marchant released his debut EP, Aesthetics, which he quickly followed with the Drowning Butterflies EP in November.

Dexters – Recover & Cloudfest Acoustic Session w/DISORDER TV

As a band, Dexters draw on a range of sounds and influences you wouldn’t necessarily associate with a young, blue collar band, formed 2012. Captain Beefheart and Robert Johnson are name checked, while more contemporary influences can also be seen in songs like ‘Conscience Calls’ – which tips its hat to Jamie T – and their superb, flagship tune ‘Start To Run’, a song in homage to losing touch with an old friend, which has a pulsating, breakneck urgency in the style of a bastard child spawned from a threesome with the clash, Jamie T, and The Jam after a debauched night of cocktails and high octane fun.
